Governor appoints Lt. Gov. Tina Smith to Senate seat


Paul. Mark Dayton announced on Wednesday that Smith, his former chief of staff , would take Franken's Senate seat for a one-year term. Smith, thought to be a leading contender to replace Franken, accepted the appointment. Man bitten by sea lion says animal trailed him


A 56-year-old man was swimming in the bay when a sea lion bit him on the arm after he failed to scare it away by splashing it and yelling at it, NBC Bay Area and KTVU reported.
