The incident occurred at roughly 3 a.m. when Monfries was climbing the tower at Keating Hall with other students, as they were reportedly trying to snap photos of the New York City skyline.

The senior continued, "I think they were posting on Instagram when it happened". University officials are investigating how the students gained access to the tower.

"The doors aren't always locked. They are always doing some kind of cleaning or renovation". They were like, 'We're seniors. My roommate was with them. The waiter also confided that his roommate was among the friends that accompanied Monfries into the bell tower. Unconscious when the paramedics arrived, time was lost as they struggled to get Monfries out of the narrow tower staircase while on a stretcher.

"She couldn't breathe. She hit her head".

The waiter said that after she fell, his roommate rushed to be by her side.

Sydney Monfries, 22, died on Sunday after breaking into the Bell Tower at the university's campus with a group of friends in the early hours of the morning.

Monfries lost her footing and fell about 30 or 40 feet, officials said.

Man United's De Gea has done 'super special preparation' for Messi coach
In the first two minutes at the Camp Nou , United did more than they had in 90 minutes at Old Trafford . Messi showed his quality. "But then there were another 85 minutes where we weren't bad".

Sydney was studying journalism and interned at InStyle magazine - being set to graduate in May.

The degree will presented to her parents at the appropriate time.

"There are no words sufficient to describe the loss of someone so young and full of promise", university president the Rev. Joseph McShane said, as quoted by NBC New York.

United States media reported emergency services struggled to rescue gravely injured Ms Monfries from the building after they realised it wasn't possible to carry her via stretcher down the staircase.

When the student's vitals flatlined medics quickly decided it would be safer to hoist her out of the tower in a rescue basket, one responder riding with her to perform chest compressions. The senior, who was critically injured, was taken to St. Barnabas Hospital.

"Our hearts go out to Sydney's parents, and her family and friends".

One student, who remained anonymous out of concern of repercussion, reportedly climbed the tower, The Fordham Ram reported in March 2013.
