Klobuchar Releases Taxes, Urges Trump To Do Same

Trump narrowly lost Minnesota to Democrat Hillary Clinton in 2016 and is hoping to flip the state in 2020.

"For many, it means those workers took home more money in their paychecks during the year because employers began using the new IRS income tax withholding tables".

Americans disappointed with their tax returns this year ー the first since the Republican tax cuts went into effect ー would be justified in blaming politicians in Washington for concocting a confusing system, an economist from the conservative Tax Foundation said. But history would appear to be against him: Minnesota has not voted for a Republican for president since Richard Nixon in 1972.

Along with Klobuchar were Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey, St. Paul Mayor Melvin Carter and State Auditor Julie Blaha. U.S. Treasurer Jovita Carranza also was on board Air Force One, according to the White House. The tax cut is increasing the federal debt.

Democratic presidential candidate Amy Klobuchar is releasing her latest tax return as she calls on President Donald Trump to "quit hiding from the American people" and make his returns public.

A source tells ET that, up until this point, Loughlin didn't believe she would face the possibility of serving time in prison. Earlier this week, Hallmark Channel announced that it would finally return When Calls the Heart to the schedule in May.

She says it's because she believes in "transparency and accountability".

"The tax bill that he passed that he is here to celebrate tomorrow doesn't invest in things like infrastructure". But so far, the tax cuts haven't delivered a major shot of financial adrenaline to most families.

A poll released last week found that just 17 percent of Americans said they paid less under the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act. The total number of people receiving refunds is down just under 2 percent; with the average refund down slightly more than 1 percent, from $2,864 to 2,833 this year.

Further muddling the picture was the federal deduction for state and local taxes being capped at $10,000, which has mattered in high-tax states such as Minnesota, California and NY, among others.
