A panel at Star Wars Celebration introduced the first footage of the show, which stars Pedro Pascal as a galactic bounty hunter named the Mandalorian who operates in the underworld and takes an important job from an enigmatic new client (Werner Herzog).

Pascal will be joined in the cast by Giancarlo Esposito of Breaking Bad and Better Call Saul; Apollo Creed from the Rocky films, Carl Weathers; Omid Abtahi of American Gods; Emily Swallow of Supernatural; Nick Nolte as the voice of an alien creature; and Deadpool's Gina Carano. "What would happen, the type of characters that would survive, and what it was like until the New Republic took over... the idea of going back to the tone of the first Star Wars film, to me that was [intriguing]". Weathers is Greef, the leader of a group of bounty hunters who hires Pascal's Mandalorian for an assignment.

The Mandalorian will be available with Disney+'s launch on November 12, 2019.

Carano plays Cara Dune.

Galaxy's Edge attractions coming to Disney's theme parks are created to look and feel as if you've stepped right into a world filled with all manner of alien creatures from far-off star systems and space wizards waving their laser swords about with reckless abandon.

If Star Wars fans were looking for a reason to sign up to Disney +, The Mandalorian - along with the upcoming Cassian Andor series - seems the most compelling case so far. The show will be set three years after Return of the Jedi, after the fall of the Empire but before the First Order emerges.

"The Mandalorian is a mysterious lone gunfighter on the outer reaches of the galaxy", Pascal added, according to Deadline. She said filming sometimes ran for 17 hours a day, but knew it was worth it because it was Star Wars.

"A never been told story during a never been seen timeframe", he says.

"He's got a lot of Clint Eastwood in him", says Pascal, who watched Sergio Leone and Akira Kurosawa movies for preparation.

Jon Favreau penned the series, and the directors for the show that have been officially announced include Dave Filoni (Star Wars: The Clone Wars, Star Wars Rebels) who will be directing the first episode. I specifically say "hear" because unfortunately while footage was shown to the audience in attendance, the online stream was blacked out while it was playing.
