Cleveland Cavaliers win lottery tiebreaker, in second position in draft lottery

15 April 2019

This technically means that the Phoenix Suns will pick "third", however both teams remain tied for the highest odds in the lottery with the best chance of selecting first overall pick (14.0%) along with the New York Knicks.

"Patrick is a huge part of our team's history and we're thrilled to have number 33 represent the franchise at this year's draft lottery", Knicks president Steve Mills said in a statement.

After lottery reform to prevent tanking, the Knicks chances aren't as strong as it would have been had they finished with the worst record.

The Cavs won the tiebreaker with the Phoenix Suns-that means the Cavs will be in the second position in the draft lottery which is set for Tuesday, May 14.

Oklahoma City acquired Hamidou Diallo on draft night last year from the Charlotte Hornets so the team will not have a second-round pick this year as that pick was sent to the Hornets in that trade.

TFG Fantasy Sports: Stats, Facts & Team for Mumbai Indians v Rajasthan Royals
Rajasthan Royals have beaten Mumbai Indians in all three games since their readmission in 2018. Jos Buttler almost finished the chase by virtue of the 28-run over against Alzarri Joseph.

NY have a 14% chance to get the No. 1 overall pick.

The Knicks finished this year with the league's worst record at 17-65, so they will select no lower than fifth on June 20. In prior years, the worst club had a 25-percent shot.

Ewing, now the head coach at Georgetown, said in an interview earlier this week that he is asked "all the time" about the Knicks' chances of landing Williamson and free agent Kevin Durant.

Ewing's Knicks career ended awkwardly. NY has won just one playoff series since Ewing, an 11-time All-Star, was traded.
