Slack Rolls out Dark Mode for IOS, Android Users

15 March 2019

There is a piece of good news for all the countless Slack users who have been requesting the company for a Dark Mode interface for several years. Considering Microsoft Teams had a dark mode for a while, Slack is really playing catch-up here, however.

Slack iOS and Android users need to sign up for the dark mode beta testing program from the Apple App Store and Google Play Store respectively.

The feature, which recently launched in beta, is now available to everyone.

To enjoy a darker look to Slack, you need to be part of the beta program, and there is nothing from stopping you from signing up right now and reaping the ocular - or just aesthetic - benefits of the new dark mode. If you are not a beta tester, you can not access it yet. From there, you can enable the dark mode in the settings. The feature is applied to most parts of the app, including headers, pop-ups, and menus, however, it doesn't affect the color palettes of the app.

Tebow reassigned to Mets minor league camp
While Tebow's chances of becoming an impact player in the majors remain slim, his faith in the quest hasn't wavered. In his third season in professional baseball, Tebow will start the year with the Triple-A Syracuse Mets .

You've got a few options when it comes to controlling dark mode in individual Apple apps for macOS too.

Facebook Messenger just started testing out a dark mode for its mobiles app. Once approved, the app should then be updated to the latest beta version. "Ease your eyes by switching to a darker colour theme for reading and writing - especially in low-light settings", the app suggested.

That includes the markedly less battery drain that dark mode causes.

It's the same with Notes - if you don't like the dark backgrounds dark mode introduces, you can switch back this element via Notes, Preferences, and Use dark backgrounds for note content. The app will restart to apply it.
