It will coincide with the move of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex to Frogmore Cottage in Windsor before their baby arrives.
The news that the royal couples were planning to break up their joint "court" at Kensington Palace was first reported late a year ago.
In a statement released on Thursday afternoon, Buckingham Palace revealed: "The Queen has agreed to the creation of a new Household for The Duke and Duchess of Sussex, following their marriage in May past year".
Britain's Prince Harry and his pregnant wife Meghan are to set up their own household, breaking away from the joint operation they shared with the Harry's elder brother William and his wife Kate, Buckingham Palace said on Thursday. "The Household, which will be created with the support of The Queen and The Prince of Wales, will be established in the spring".
"The Duke of Sussex now has his own private office, which has been supporting the Duchess since the engagement of Their Royal Highnesses in November 2017", the Palace said in a statement (via Reuters).

The monarch has seemingly made a decision to take a closer look on how the Duke and Duchess of Sussex's communications will be handled, with their staff, led by by American Sara Latham, having to report directly to the Queen's communications secretary.
Meghan and Harry's baby will be seventh in line to the throne and the Queen and the Duke of Edinburgh's eighth great-grandchild.
Reports of the royal households splitting began circulating late previous year, with commentators explaining that Meghan's entrance into the Royal Family had changed the young royals' working dynamic. "If she is to do something public it would be announced, but there are none that are scheduled", a source says. Sara joins from Freuds where she oversaw global corporate accounts with a particular emphasis on executive thought leadership and purpose-led campaigns.
On Twitter, 9Honey's royal commentator Victoria Arbiter explains the creation of two separate royal households is part of the wider evolution of the Royal Family. We will see them doing those things together.
She added: "And what I'm told through my sources at the palace, that each of them has their own niche".
