The comedian, who hails from Scarborough, Ont., is taking over from Carson Daly on NBC.

Singh made the announcement on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon.

NBC has hired YouTube star Lilly Singh to take over the late-night spot now occupied by Carson Daly. Lilly Singh is changing that ratio with her upcoming NBC show, 'A Little Late with Lilly Singh'.

Daly announced last month that he would be bringing an end to his show, saying that he is hoping to focus on new projects, as well his job as the host of the network's popular singing show The Voice. "Now that is a dream come true", Singh said.

Singh also posted her excitement on Twitter on Thursday, giving a shoutout to her fanbase. Lilly is truly a jack of all trades, as she's lent her acting chops to movies like Bad Moms (starring Mila Kunis) and Fahrenheit 451 (starring Michael B. Jordan), and was even the leading lady in her own web series, Lana Steele: Makeup Sky.

I was able to mix up my game, cover my serve, be risky on the return - maybe take some rhythm away from Stan. I wasn't playing well. "Didn't he play dubs ... for sure something wrong with him", Kyrgios wrote.

Singh also is the author of the bestselling How to Be a Bawse: A Guide to Conquering Life.

Singh also shared the news on Instagram writing, "I can't even believe I am writing this caption". Beyond her relatable spoofs, she's been candid about why she calls herself a feminist, ending in-fighting between girls, her relationship with her parents, and the importance of confidence and self-love.

She also took a moment to appreciate the trailblazers. Singh is the first Canadian woman, and first South Asian Canadian to crack that title. She has since amassed more than 14 million subscribers.

"Lilly is truly a star and we're thrilled to welcome her to our NBC family", said Doug Vaughan, Executive Vice President of Special Programs and Late Night at NBC Entertainment. "We can't wait to get started".

Singh rose to fame through her YouTube comedy channel, "IISuperwomanII", which has more than 14 million followers, producing sketches frequently referencing her immigrant background and being open about her mental health.
