Prior to joining Oakland, Joyce spent six seasons in Tampa Bay where he slugged.435 with 76 home runs and 280 RBI, earning an All-Star bid in 2011. Max Moroff, acquired from the Pirates this winter, is another option, as is minor league journeyman Eric Stamlets. However, that would likely require Chang, Stamets, or Moroff playing third base. The team said Lindor is expected to return to Major League game activity in seven-to-nine weeks. Lindor and Jose Ramirez were expected to carry the offense this season so this injury can not be welcomed news in the executive offices at Progressive Field. So, the question all spring will be surrounding whether Lindor will be ready to go when the season starts. The bottom line is the Indians don't need this kind of uncertainty surrounding their best offensive player heading into the 2019 season. Lindor will not be able to participate in spring training under that timetable, but he shouldn't miss many regular season games.
