Steve Buscemi's Wife Jo Andres Dead at 65

Andres may not have helmed feature films but she still was known for her "film/dance/light" experimental performance art through the 80's.

Steve Buscemi's wife, Jo Andres, has died.

According to reports out in TMZ, Andres died either last Monday or over this past weekend - as it appears the funeral happened at their Brooklyn home on Tuesday, with her burial on Wednesday. Readers may be aware that Buscemi is a former New York City firefighter who volunteered for duty on 9/11. She died on the 11th of January but a cause of death isn't now known by the mainstream media. They received an NYPD and FDNY escort. She was also a dance consultant to the acclaimed Wooster Group. She was best known for her 1996 film Black Kites - which Lucian starred in.

In an interview with the Independent in 2009, Buscemi said his favorite work of art was "probably something by my wife Jo Andres". In the past, Buscemi has stated he penned love songs for her early into their relationship after she momentarily left him to travel around Europe with an ex-boyfriend for a month.

She had been married to Steve fore 30 years. A wonderful artist and a lively, kind person.

Jo Andres, who was aged in her mid-60s, and Fargo star Buscemi had been married for 31 years and had a son, Lucian, in 1990.
