11 January 2019

With the stated goal of creating more "connected living" for their consumers in 2019, Samsung announced and detailed a wide variety of products, ranging from smarter (and higher resolution) TVs to robots.

Coincidentally, this year marks the 10th anniversary of the Galaxy series - and the company doesn't leave much room for doubt on its official invitation.

"When we first launched Family Hub three years ago, it was an app-based experience anchored in food management, family connections and entertainment", said John Herrington, Senior Vice President, General Manager of Home Appliances, Samsung Electronics America.

The entry-level offering of the bunch, the Galaxy S10 Lite, was recently spotted on Geekbench powered by Qualcomm's octa-core Snapdragon 855 SoC clocked at 1.78GHz paired with 6GB of RAM and running Android 9 Pie to handle things on the software side. Technology is no longer something that needs to be learned, but rather something that functions seamlessly in ways that enhance their lives, provides increased personalization and allows them to spend time doing what matters most to them. Just 1 million Galaxy foldable phones will be released into markets starting in Korea and then in the US, China and Europe. One high-level executive told the publication that when unfolded, the phone does not show any crease indicating it has been bent, adding that the device's screen felt smooth to the touch.

The interface has been completely redesigned from the ground up. But could there be more to look forward to than the Galaxy S10 and Galaxy S10+?
