Biotechnology company ValiRx said it had "endorsed" the United Kingdom government's NHS long-term plan to improve the quality of patient care and health outcomes. It is absolutely critical that we have facilities purpose-designed to support the new resources, such as community crisis teams and school Mental Health Support Teams, outlined in the 10-Year Plan so that the NHS' ability to actually deliver them is not compromised.
In the UK, National Health Service (NHS) bosses have said that a new 10-year plan could save up to 500,000 lives by focusing on prevention and early detection, and that Global Positioning System, mental health and community care will get the biggest funding increases to shift the focus away from hospitals.
Another part of the plan is to adjust the GP payment formulae to "ensure fair funding without inequality favouring one type of GP provider over another".
Pharmacists working for the networks will be supported to "find and treat people with high-risk conditions"; they will be expected to "undertake a range of medicine reviews, including educating patients on the correct use of inhalers"; and the networks would be able to take part in a "shared savings scheme" that would allow them to keep some of the savings made by medication reviews carried out by pharmacists. In return, the NHS was asked to develop a plan for how to spend this additional funding to transform patient care and make sure every penny of taxpayers' money is spent wisely. We would like to see this extended into other areas where there are high levels of dental decay, ' she added.
Gidley said the document is the first "where there has been consistent mentions of the role of pharmacists and we have to take encouragement from that", but that more detail is needed.
"It's been promised for years, but there's still no sight of it", he said.
Frank Castle Kicks Ass in ‘The Punisher’ Season 2 Trailer
All in all, in other words, the makings of another fantastically violent tableau in which Castle can, you know, do his thing. Throughout the (re) introduction to Jigsaw and The Punisher's past, strains from Alice in Chains classic "Would" swell.
'It's really good to see recognition for oral health in the NHS Long Term plan, ' said Claire Stevens, spokesperson for BSPD.
"[The] PSNC has been pressing for reform of community pharmacy's reimbursement arrangements for a number of years so we are keen to begin discussions on this".
NHS Dorset Clinical Commissioning Group's Chief Officer, Tim Goodson, welcomed the plan, saying it: "Very much reflects our own local ambitions and will help to overcome the challenges we face including a growing demand for services and staff shortages". The plan is backed by a £20.5 billion settlement for the NHS.
Malcolm Harrison, chief executive of the Company Chemists' Association (CCA), welcomed the involvement of pharmacy in the plans but called for more funding to "translate the ambition of this plan into reality". "We need to hear what the plan is to address these shortages".
Other key areas of the Plan, which was developed in partnership with clinicians and patients themselves, seek to improve out-of-hospital care, such as community health services, improve maternity safety and care, and prioritise use of the latest technology to tackle preventable diseases. "I look forward to seeing the Plan enacted and our NHS continue to go from strength to strength".
