Freedive is available through your computer or Amazon Fire TV device.

The Amazon-owned movie database site has launched IMDb Freedive (imdb.com/freedive), a free streaming video channel available in the U.S. IMDb declined to say how many titles are initially available; the site now lists over 130 movies and 29 TV shows to stream for free.

Unlike streaming services like Netflix and Prime Video, IMDb Freedive does not require a subscription, and is instead supported by ads, according to a press release.

IMDb Freedive is available beginning today at www.imdb.com/freedive, on IMDb's website via laptop or personal computer and on Fire TV devices.

Amazon is competing with YouTube, Facebook, Hulu, Roku and even Walmart, which owns Vudu, in the ad-supported video space, a category that is increasingly attractive for brands that can't count on TV as the next-generation of viewers migrates online.

Films featured at the top of the home page on Thursday included "Memento", "True Romance", "Awakenings", "The Last Samurai" and others. "With the launch of IMDb Freedive, they can now also watch full-length movies and TV shows on IMDb and all Amazon Fire TV devices for free". Freedive represents a bigger push to monetize video content with full-length movies and hit TV shows.
