Xiaomi Mi 8 Camera Review | Incredible HDR

Xiaomi has enjoyed significant growth in the European market in recent years, but it seems the Chinese brand is far from done.

To recall, Xiaomi's latest MIUI 10 custom ROM was announced at the company's annual product launch event in June this year.

Xiaomi has a lot of fantastic phones, and they all offer great value.

Xiaomi will also sell its devices via its own online store, Amazon UK, John Lewis, and Argos.

As of today, Xiaomi is now sold in 74 markets worldwide.

Xiaomi has started its swagger sweep into the lucrative United Kingdom market with two big phones it just launched in China: the Mi 8 Pro and the Mi 8 Youth - known here as the Mi 8 Lite. Xiaomi will be opening a dedicated storefront for its products in the Westfield shopping center in London which not only includes both Mi 8 smartphones, but will also have headphones, computer accessories, and more on hand.

Some Mi 8 Pro specs.

The phone features a 6.21-inch Full HD+ AMOLED display with screen resolution of 2248 x 1080 pixels. I only had a small amount of time to use the phone at the launch event, but the display looks decent - if not mind-blowing - with relatively punchy colours and a good level of contrast.

The Mi 8 Pro originally debuted in China this May, and it's easily the most exciting of the bunch. A big part of the camera system, and a growing trend in the smartphone market, is also the AI scene recognition, which can detect up to 25 objects/scenarios and optimises the image accordingly. Under the hood, the device is powered by Qualcomm's Snapdragon 845 octa-core processor clocked at 2.8GHz, along with Adreno 630 GPU.

The Xiaomi Mi 8 Pro will be priced at £499 in Blighty and will also be available to pick up via Three priced from £19 on a £22 per month contract.
