Disney Announces Cassian Andor Star Wars Live-Action Series

09 November 2018

Disney said previous year that it plans to launch its own streaming service in 2019 and would pull its first-run movies from Netflix to put them on a Disney-branded service.

As we saw in Solo: A Star Wars Story, Disney seems hellbent on showing us the origins of familiar characters, so I'd also bet good money that Alan Tudyk will return at some point as K-2SO and we'll see how those two characters first met. Luna will reprise the role for the show.

Luna said in a statement that the format would be a chance to "explore this character more deeply". The streaming service is also developing several new limited series starring your favorite Marvel characters too.

What are your thoughts on this new series?

A release date has not yet been announced for the new series, which is the second Star Wars series Disney has announced, after The Mandalorian from Jon Favreau.

What we know about the California mass shooting
The highway patrolman cleared the perimeter and pulled Helus out, and waited as a SWAT team and scores more officers arrived. The Marine Corps said Long earned several awards, including a Combat Action Ribbon and a Marine Corps Good Conduct Medal.

The new series follows the adventures of the now famous rebel spy Cassian Andor, who we know as Captain Cassian Andor from Rogue One: A Star Wars Story from 2016.

Disney's family-friendly movies, now running on Netflix, will eventually switch over to Disney+, alongside its slate of original exclusive programs.

The untitled series is described as a spy thriller that will explore tales filled with espionage and daring missions to restore hope to a galaxy in the grip of a ruthless Empire. That being said, Iger did reveal that the company plans to launch Disney+ in the United States sometime in late 2019. The major series now in development is Jon Favreau's The Mandalorian, which will be set after the events of Star Wars: Return of the Jedi before the formation of the First Order.

The series will go into production next year. This key event in the Star Wars timeline brings together ordinary people who choose to do extraordinary things, and in doing so, become part of something greater than themselves.
