Why the Eagles should make a play for Raiders WR Amari Cooper

Head coach Jon Gruden was asked about Cooper's future after the 27-3 loss, and he sure didn't shoot them down.

But six regular season games later, Dickson remains on the non-football injury list, Dissly is out for the year with a patellar tendon injury and Vannett sat out Sunday's game with a back issue.

Amari Cooper and Karl Joseph haven't really panned out the way the Raiders hoped they would when they were selected back in the 2015 and '16 National Football League drafts respectively.

The Raiders, at 1-5, can hit the reset button, they said, and start fresh when they come back from their week off.

Cooper has gotten off to an inconsistent start to this season as well, with 22 receptions for 280 yards and a score, yet having three games this season with fewer than 20 yards receiving.

The Oakland Raiders have already made headlines in all the wrong ways by dealing away former first-round draft pick Khalil Mack, and now, reports are suggesting they'll do the same thing with the team's two first-round picks from the seasons right after Mack arrived.

For the Eagles, Cooper would be the ideal, low maintenance compliment to Alshon Jeffery. The Eagles lost both Mike Wallace and Mack Hollins to injuries this year, and both are now on injured reserve. Now the Raiders are considering shaking up the roster even further, by shopping a couple former first-round draft picks.

Lynch had 13 carries for 45 yards and caught three passes for 14 yards. He wouldn't have to be the top option either on an offense that already has Jeffery, Zach Ertz, Nelson Agholor and Jordan Matthews.

Cooper would fetch the Raiders a bigger haul.
