Bride visits late fiancé’s grave on would have been their wedding day

Murphy, a Montgomery volunteer firefighter, was killed while helping a crash victim on a rural road in southwest in, the Indianapolis Star reported in November 2017.

Jessica Padgett was set to get married to her fiance, Kendall Murphy, on September 29, when tragedy struck.

WTHR has the full report.

Kendall's mother came up with the idea for Jessica to take wedding photos to help with the healing process.

Murphy, 27, was assisting at the scene of one vehicle crash on a November 2017 night when he was struck and killed by another motorist - also a volunteer firefighter, Fox 59 reported. She said: 'What a emotional, fantastic weekend this was!

Jessica was also presented with a stack of letters from everyone in the community.

Knepp told WXIN that she agreed and would do anything to help.

The photoshoot has helped to bring Ms Padgett and Mr Murphy's family some closure.

Mandi took photos of Jessica while she put on her dress and did her makeup.

Paying tribute, the National Fallen Firefighters Association described Kendall as "a selfless man of God who loved spending time with family and friends".

The town also honored Murphy at the Montgomery Volunteer Fire Department.
