USA recoils from 'cop killing' in Dallas of Botham Jean

16 September 2018

Another search warrant allowed investigators to collect communications from property management connected to the shooting and seize the logs from access doors and gates and an elevator access door lock as well as a lock audit report for each of their apartments, the WFAA story stated.

"Law enforcement has no place for fearful officers", said Jameca Woody Falconer, a police psychologist based in St. Louis. He was black. The officer was white.

In the shooting death of Jean, it is not clear whether Dallas police has issued warrants to search Guyger's apartment as well.

Jean's death 10 days ago is the latest in a long line of police killings, but one slight consolation is that the extreme circumstances of it have at least served to highlight the troubling recourse to deadly violence that is an all-too-common...

Amber Guyger, 30, who has been a police officer for 4 years, entered Jean's apartment, first claiming she thought it was her own home before she started shooting. A grand jury has convened. The lengths the Dallas police going to in order to make sure that narrative fits Botham Jean are so over the top that it would be laughable if we weren't talking about an unspeakable tragedy.

The news and the tweet, which received criticism online, had nothing to do with why Jean was killed the night of September 6.

'Please be careful': NSW mum finds needles in strawberries
The Queensland Police Service said it was investigating the contamination relating to sewing needles inserted in strawberries. Just posting this as a warning to anyone that has bought strawberries (Berry Obsessions) from Woolworths recently.

Lawyers on Friday also accused Dallas police of "preferential treatment" toward Guyger and alleged officers were leaking information to the media.

Merritt, an attorney for the Jean family, said the Dallas Police Department tainted the investigation before handing it off to the Texas Rangers. "And, for it to be released this day, I don't believe in coincidences", Merritt told NBC DFW. It's unknown if a search warrant was also executed at the officer's apartment.

Guyger is charged with manslaughter and remains free on $300,000 bond. He cited a police search warrant request that asked permission to search Jean's apartment for drugs. She alleges the door was open and she saw a "large silhouette" inside, and claims after her verbal commands were ignored. she shot Jean in the torso.

Earlier, authorities released a video showing Guyger being booked into jail after she was arrested.

Merritt said the district attorney's investigators may be unsure whether Guyger is being forthcoming in her statements and are looking for evidence that will either prove or disprove her version of events.
