Manchester City turn on style after Sane's flying start fells Fulham

16 September 2018

Sane, last season's PFA Young Player of the Year, has yet to start a game this term and has been handed just 30 minutes of action from the bench.

Leroy Sane needed only two minutes to score on his first Premier League start of the season and set Manchester City on its way to a 3-0 win over Fulham on Saturday.

Fulham were architects of their own downfall to a certain extent, with their gung-ho approach to the game playing right into Man City's hands, and the hosts were inches away from doubling their advantage after only 15 minutes when Sterling was played clean through on goal, only to see his low effort bounce off the leg of Marcus Bettinelli and up against the crossbar.

Leroy was so important, is so important, and will be so important for the club. There's a lot of nice strikers and midfield players and the season will be judged in 11 months, not just in three weeks or one month.

"I hope he likes sports, and if he gets into football, we'll help him". "It was also a good game today and we won, we played a good game".

"For some players it's like this", he said.

Vera has been a season ticket holder for more than 85 years and still goes to every home match with Olga, son Danny and son-in-law Roger.

Osaka not saddened by Serena row in US Open final
Serena Williams yells at umpire Carlos Ramos during her Women's Singles finals match in New York City on September 8, 2018. She was called emotional, her rage labelled a meltdown, a tantrum. "Ambitious" is a dirty word when describing a woman.

The Premier League champion wasled onto the pitch at Etihad Stadium by 102-year-old Vera Cohen and her sister, 97-year-old Olga Halon. He will grow up.

Sane faces more competition for a starting place following the arrival of club-record signing Riyad Mahrez in the summer, but Guardiola believes he will thrive on the rivalry in the squad.

'He'll keep improving, there are many more good games to come from him'.

The playmaker, who is already considered one of the best foreign players to have featured in the Premier League, was the subject of interest from La Liga giants Real Madrid and Barcelona at the time but doesn't regret picking City.

But Fulham bowed to the inevitable in the 21st minute after more outstanding play from Bernardo who held off Stefan Johansen's strong challenge and pulled the ball back for Sergio Aguero whose effort was blocked by Odoi.

Mr Al Mubarak added: "Our aim is obviously to build on the achievements of the previous year".

"It's not about "I don't like you anymore" or "I prefer this one or the other one" - it's not". That is not the case. "I don't think he has a release clause in his contract".
