18 July 2018

Following a 14-minute pursuit through the neighborhood, Rodriguez was taken into custody without incident.

Person of interest after murder victim Pamela Johnson's auto found parked at Willowbrook Mall. Rodriguez was named the prime suspect by police in a trio of slayings that rocked the Houston area. Police set out searching for a dark gray Nissan Sentra that was stolen from the scene.

"This Nissan comes rolling up and this guy looks straight at me and I'm like, 'He looks like the guy, '" Martinez explained.

Martinez said that once deputies started chasing Rodriguez, he pulled over briefly and then sped away.

Gonzalez said he is confident they can connect the crimes.

The Houston Police Department had asked for the public's help in locating him.

Acevedo said Gilberto Rodriguez had been on parole for unspecified crimes when he cut his ankle monitor a few days ago. "We can not release all of the details but all these cases we feel have some linkages to each other", Sheriff Gonzalez said.

"Two things community needs to know: We are going to be flies on stink on parolees. Actually he's pretty much bald but his natural hair color is black and he's got as you can see tattoos around his neck", says Chief Acevedo.

Jessica Collins , 41, was arrested Thursday for the bloody attack in Spring, a Houston suburb. Collins then allegedly bit off a large piece of Tatiana's nose and swallowed it.

Rodriguez is suspected of a crime spree that began July 9 with a home invasion robbery.

A man linked to three fatal shootings since Friday has been captured by Harris County authorities. She was found dead Friday inside her home in Cypress. Her body was tied up when it was found, according to authorities.

The next day, Johnson's Chrysler PT Cruiser was found at a mall parking lot.

Acevedo said Rodriguez appeared to be motivated by money in each of the cases, and also said the spree could have been even worse.

"It's possible that he was looking to score his next victim, so we're very relieved, very thankful to the citizens of Harris County for calling in, for being diligent and reporting this to us so that we could take action", Gonzalez said during a news conference. Police said Allie Barrow, 28, was shot in the head. A manager discovered her body in the store at The Commons shopping center at 7592 West FM 1960, near Tomball Parkway. Authorities said Rodriguez is a person of interest in the shooting. A photo of Magana is below.

The three victims were killed in a similar way, police said. The driver was shot in the torso and taken to a hospital. His condition was unknown.

Police say he led them on a 14-minute vehicle chase, before being taken into custody without incident.

Detectives identified Rodriguez as a suspect wanted in at least five crimes, consisting of a home invasion, the assault of a METRO bus driver, two murders at two different mattress retailers, and the murder of a 62-year-old woman who was killed at her northwest Houston home.
