Jordan Henderson hopeful over fitness ahead of Croatia clash

Henderson helped England to claim a 2-0 win over Sweden in the quarter-finals in their most recent outing on Saturday, as Gareth Southgate's men set up a semi-final showdown with Croatia.

"It's a special feeling to know that people back home and out here in Russian Federation are enjoying the experience just as much as we are", the midfielder said on the eve of the game.

Speaking to reporters in Moscow on the eve of England's semi-final against Croatia, Campos said: "I knew I wasn't tall or strong so I had to be smart".

While few would regard Henderson as one of the top midfielders in the world, he clearly has some good influence on his teams - either that or he's an incredibly effective good luck charm. We'll just have to assess the bodies.

Henderson has started four of England's five 2018 World Cup games, as he was rested in the group-stage fixture against Belgium.

Pivac to succeed Gatland as Wales coach
The former New Zealand Police constable has beaten fellow Kiwis Dave Rennie and Scott Robinson to the post, which will be vacated by Gatland after Japan 2019.

Discussing Klopp's response to England doing so well, Henderson admits the German tactician is delighted and has texted him to say so every time they've progressed further in the competition.

"I'll obviously speak to the forwards and tell them what I think", Henderson said.

"For me, he's got everything a centre-half needs: he's aggressive, good in the air, can play out from the back, good on the ball and he's a real leader as well, which is massive as a defender, always talking".

Former Mexico goalkeeper Jorge Campos has said Jordan Pickford's relative lack of height does not matter at all as he has proven he is one of the best shot-stoppers in the world.
