Sources in the federal government said authorities are considering to arrange access of a NAB team to the airplane so that they could arrest Sharifs from within the plane. Meanwhile, PML-N spokesperson Marriyum Aurenzeb said Sharif and Maryam will arrive in Lahore on Friday via Abu Dhabi on a foreign airline.

Sharif and his daughter, Maryam Safdar, are now in London, where the three-time former PM's wife is undergoing cancer treatment.

"Nawaz Sharif restored peace, put an end to loadshedding and initiated (other) development projects yet - day in, day out - we face false allegations", he told supporters at an election rally in Haroonabad. The objective of a PML-N gathering on their return is to welcome their leader and his daughter and that they will remain peaceful. Persons put on the ECL are prohibited from leaving Pakistan.
