Most recently, Prince George was baptised within the Chapel in 2013 by the same reverend who will officiate Louis' ceremony, Archbishop of Canterbury Justin Welby.

Prince Louis had a big day on Monday as family and close friends gathered for his royal christening.

So you can only imagine my glee at seeing all the pics from the christening of Prince Louis of Cambridge.

Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Philip couldn't make it to the event.

Prince Louis was christened at The Chapel Royal at Saint James's Palace in London, England, on Monday. As the palace further explains, "the original gown was subsequently worn for all Royal christenings, including The Queen, her children and her grandchildren".

The 36-year-old arrived hand-in-hand with her husband the Duke of Sussex ahead of the service at the Chapel Royal at St. James's Palace in London.

The Duke and Duchess have asked six close friends and family members to become Louis' godparents.

Prince William and the former Kate Middleton later hosted a tea at Clarence House, where they served a christening cake made from a tier of their wedding cake, the palace said.
