The new character progress system will offer more for players who've completed the campaign and reached the level cap with new signature weapons that unlock a new progression tree with special abilities.

Set seven months after a deadly virus was released in New York City, The Division 2 raises the stakes for players by launching them into a fractured and collapsing Washington D.C. - built as a one-to-one recreation of the city.

Ubisoft announced that The Division 2 will have raids and debuted a new cinematic trailer for the game during its E3 2018 press conference.

The Division 2's development is led by Massive Entertainment and driven by close collaboration with Ubisoft Annecy, Redstorm, Reflections, Ubisoft Bucharest and Ubisoft Shanghai.

One of the biggest announcements is that Ubisoft will allow groups of up to 8 players to band together to tackle raids for the first time in franchise history. "These challenging missions will test the skill, communication, and teamwork of even the most expert Agents". The Division 2 launches in March 2019, and a beta will be held before launch. Additionally, an optional premium pass giving players access to one year of exclusive and premium extra contents will be available, with more details to be revealed at a later date.
