Dutch Queen Maxima's younger sister has died in Buenos Aires, "most likely as a result of suicide", the Dutch Royal House and media reports said Thursday. Zorreguieta is believed to have taken her own life.

It's understood King Willem-Alexander will carry out next week's state visit next week to Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania alone, according to the BBC.

Zorreguieta and the Queen had a close relationship, as Zorreguieta was a bridesmaid at her older sister's 2002 wedding to then Dutch Crown Prince Willem-Alexander.

His post caused an uproar in the Netherlands - the Dutch parliament held a Debate before Maxima married the crown prince and her father wasn't allowed to attend their nuptials.

Other details about her death were not immediately available, but Zorreguieta had reportedly suffered from eating disorders and depression.
