According to the Relay For Life website, "Survivors and Caregivers are the heart and soul of Relay For Life events". Ivan Labelle, a three-time cancer survivor, served as community champion/honorary cancer survivor for the relay, and he was serving as master of ceremonies again, after months of behind-the-scenes work helping St-Jean to organize the event, to perhaps have it back on the road to someday being one of the biggest in the province.

Amy is now five years cancer free but the removal of her thyroid has resulted in lasting complications.
And years later, like many survivors, the prospect of a recurrence still lingers in her mind.
From that day on, her family have been propelled on a journey that no family should have to endure.
"It gives you hope.to come and cry with people and laugh with people who understand what you're going through", she said.
