Alberto weakens to a subtropical depression: U.S. NHC

Alberto is making its way toward Northern Michigan right now.

But the chance of more rainfall hasnt passed completely.

That was hundreds of miles from Alberto's center and more rain is on the way.

The tropical influence continues Thursday with scattered showers and storms. The former Californian and now Gulf Breeze resident said she's used to bigger waves and made sure to take precautions that included using her board leash.

Though the Atlantic hurricane season doesn't officially start until Friday, Alberto has become the first named storm this year, throwing disarray into long holiday weekend plans up and down Florida's Gulf Coast. Sunday, though still several days out, is forecast to be mostly sunny with a high near 88.

With such an early start to the season, it makes sense to be concerned.
