Former Super Eagles goalkeeper trainer, Ike Shorunmu says the various fund raising projects geared towards generating money to aid Nigeria to success at the forthcoming Russian Federation 2018 World Cup will not guarantee excellent performance from the players at the competition.

Since first qualifying for the tournament in 1994, Nigeria has played in the World Cup a further four times but never advancing beyond the "Round of 16".

"So sad for the likes of Brown Ideye and Henry Onyekuru whose names were omitted from the list as they have both struggled in their efforts to get back to fitness ahead of the World Cup". Some players like Leon Balogun, Ogenyi Onazi, Wilfred Ndidi and Tyron Ebuehi are recovering from injuries and have started training.

Meanwhile, NAIJ.com reported that out of the 32 teams playing at the World Cup, Rohr is the 24th highest paid coach.
