New York Giants: Release of Brandon Marshall is no surprise

20 April 2018

When Brandon Marshall (the until recently Giants player) was cut from the NY team, fans, after all these years and multiple warnings from people like us tweeted at the wrong Marshall. With the draft coming and new general managers truly figuring out their cap situation and their roster, big-name players are getting released.

Marshall posted to social media video of himself removing his name plate from his locker. The organization, which signed him to a two-year, $12 million deal last offseason, has chosen to go in a different direction, however, and Giants general manager Dave Gettleman told reporters that Marshall was being released with a failed physical. I'm not playing this game just to be a guy. I want to be remembered for the product that I put out on the field. "But I'm hopeful that the next couple years for me will be some awesome years and some of my best work". Marshall still has a place in the league, as evidenced by 7.2 YPT and 25 TDs in 49 games over the last four seasons with the Bears, Jets and Giants.

Although, if Marshall's failed physical came as a surprise, then those plans could change.

The details of the shooting are unclear, but while Douma was previously a rebel bastion, the city is now under Syrian control. But later Friday, Defense Secretary Jim Mattis said the latest action against Assad was a "one-time shot".

The decision to cut the six-time Pro Bowl receiver comes as no surprise.

The New York Giants seem to be ridding themselves of all the aging talent taking up too much cap-space on the team. The Giants will save $5.156 million by releasing him. Please like and follow on Facebook and Twitter.
