Pogba could miss Manchester United's match against Sevilla

13 March 2018

Sevilla coach Vincenzo Montella insists they go to Champions League opponents Manchester United convinced of victory.

"If we manage to win the tie and go to last eight, I think [it] is a good achievement but life goes on and hypothetically, we have a quarterfinal to play and we don't go thinking we don't have a chance". They are yet to win a single away game at this stage (D1 L2). In the first half, the game gave us the opportunity to be direct, fast and score goals, more than we did.

The pair's meeting in the Old Trafford tunnel after the game suggests that's far from the case, yet claims that the ex-Juventus man has struggled in United's midfield recently certainly isn't gossip.

"In modern football you have to live day-by-day, week-by week and match-by-match and I can imagine that if we lose against Sevilla on Tuesday everyone will have forgotten what we did in the last couple of weeks".

Despite the Red Devils holding the advantage of playing the second leg at home without a deficit to overcome, Sevilla president Jose Castro believes his side are on the cusp of reaching the last eight of European football's premier cup competition for the first since 1957/58. Getting to the quarter-finals will be special for the club which has only played once in the quarter-finals during the past 60 years.

"You could see that Valencia are unsafe on the counter, but Sevilla did not defend against that in their 2-0 defeat against them in La Liga on Saturday".

CM Punk claims he'll return to octagon at UFC 225 in Chicago
Punk landed all six of his shots in the clinch, but Gall threw sharp elbows early in the first round that opened up his opponent. Former WWE star CM Punk has confirmed that he will fight in the UFC for a second time in the summer.

He said: "We have to forget this defeat and think about Tuesday. But we will try". "Just because City are having a successful season doesn't mean United's season has to be a disaster".

"Another worrying stat as far as Sevilla are concerned is that they have not picked up a single point in their six encounters with the top four sides in Spain so far this season".

"We know it's a tough task and we're going to suffer throughout the 90 minutes or longer".

"We are a strong team once we take the lead".

If Jose Mourinho himself had been asked to write his ideal script for a game against Jurgen Klopp's Liverpool, it would be very similar to what transpired on the pitch today.

Rashford scored twice in his first Premier League start of 2018 against Liverpool, but his manager still substituted the 21-year-old England forward 20 minutes from time as he looked to make the game safe. To do so, Mourinho must find the right blend between attack and defence with big decisions to be made over whether Paul Pogba and Alexis Sanchez start. But, on the sheer weight of evidence this season, expect more of the same: doing just enough to keep the fans happy, the board appeased and the season ticking over.
