LaVine makes debut, Bulls defeat Pistons, 107-105

There will be 25 games left after the break and it would mean Jackson would miss 24 games if he's able to return for the February 23 game with Boston coming out of the break.

Tobias Harris and Andre Drummond versus Lauri Markkanen and Robin Lopez.

LaVine averaged 18.9 points, 3.4 rebounds and 3.0 assists in 47 games with the Timberwolves last season, which marked his third year in the league.

The Bulls are not in a rush to give Zach LaVine a heavy workload, as they are reportedly putting the high-flying guard out of UCLA on a minutes-restriction protocol, per Darnell Mayberry of The Athletic.

LaVine was making his Bulls debut after being acquired from Minnesota in the Jimmy Butler trade.

Vikings activate QB Sam Bradford off injured reserve for Sunday's playoff game
Case Keenum will start, but the Vikings haven't said whether Bradford or Teddy Bridgewater will be No. 2 on the depth chart. Bradford was back for the Bears game, but hobbled around in the first half before being pulled for Keenum.

Like he will for the first week, LaVine sat out the fourth quarter.

"We just didn't close", Pistons coach Stan Van Gundy said.

"There's sacrifices that are going to have to be with the entire team".

As expected, the Bulls were conservative with LaVine, who's on a 20-minute limit to start. "(That) shows you that he's just been itching for this moment to get out there and back on the floor with his teammates". But when Andre Drummond missed a layup try with 40 seconds left and Avery Bradley fouled going for the rebound, Kris Dunn spit a pair of free throws to give the Bulls a two-point lead. The Bulls got 10 triples split among three virtual 7-footers: four apiece for rookie Laurie Markkanen and Nikola Mirotic and two for Bobby Portis.

3-ONE STEP BACK - Stanley Johnson's right hip flexor continues to be problematic, causing him to miss another game. "For him to finally get out there, to get this behind him I know it's very important". "It's his ability, in his mind, at least, to move". Chicago made its first six tries from beyond the arc, including all three by Markkanen, to equal the previous stretch from March 21-April 2, 2017. Hoiberg drew up the next play for Markkanen, who hit the go-ahead shot. "(Markkanen) had no hesitation, he rose up and knocked it down. It's playing the game I love and it's doing it.
