Strongly condemning the PDP lawmaker's statement, Pradesh Bhartiya Janata Party demanded lodging of FIR against the Mir.

"Terrorists, who are from Kashmir are martyrs".

Days earlier, the party's chief spokesperson, Rafi Ahmad Mir, had expressed regret over the deaths of militants and said there was nothing wrong if party leaders met the families of the slain rebels to offer condolences. They are our children.

"Militants who are from Kashmir are martyrs, they are our brothers, some of them are minors who don't even know what they are doing", Aijaz Ahmed Mir, who represents Wachi constituency located in Shopian district of south Kashmir said. "How can they be someone's brother?"

"I feel how long should it continue?" We should not glorify the killing of terrorists. This vicious circle will continue like this. Whatever we (J&K) have to get, we will get from this country (India).

Mir also cautioned against glorifying the killing of militants. The PDP leader, Aijaz Ahmad Mir, further termed it as a "collective failure".

"There can be ideological clashes between them and us".
