"I'd much rather go for someone like Oprah Winfrey than a career politician".
LINDA MOTTRAM: Donald Trump there.
Jeremy Young, thank you for your time.
Despite the President's confident boast that he would beat Winfrey, our poll suggests that if the election were held today he would lose by a 47-43 margin among those who would vote.
She also talked about the kind of people she interviewed and how these large number of people share one thing in common, "an ability to maintain hope for a brighter morning, even during our darkest nights". Bring her on, says the Trump White House.
"I do think this though guys, I do think she's intrigued by the idea, I do think that", King continued. Who wouldn't be flattered at widespread suggestions she ought to run for president? I don't think at this point she is actually considering it. However, some influential Christian personalities have looked past all the glitz and glamor of Hollywood, and simply appreciated her words.
Tonya Harding's manager walks out as her mother labels her a 'liar'
Pascal Rondeau, Getty Images A sign showing support for figure skater Tonya Harding sits outside her home in Beavercreek, Oregon. During the two-hour special, Harding said she had done enough apologizing for what happened decades ago.
While the rest just straight up dragged her. She's not thinking that, 'Oh, since I did this speech, I qualify to be president or I even want to be president'. So she knew that she wanted to say something significant. Soon after the award show, many fans and celebrities, including Meryl Streep, called for Winfrey to try for the Oval Office in 2020. The text over the image read, "When you have been part of the problem for decades, but suddenly they all think you are the solution". I mean it is so intense.
So Oprah is not going to have to worry that she's going to get dirtied up and that people who like her are going to turn on her.
Trump himself had not said anything about the speech, and his staff were not sure if he watched. Women wore black. The normally-red carpet was black.
"I said, "Lady, it is going to cost me some money but you are going to shoot the lights out". I do think this though, guys.
However, it is worth noting that Oprah is not the only African American woman considering running.
So I think that it certainly could help Oprah in a primary.
"She would be a serious candidate", Jennifer Palmieri, former White House communications director under Obama and the communications director for Hillary Clinton's 2016 campaign, said.
