Mary J. Blige receives star on Hollywood Walk of Fame

For the special occasion, the 47-year-old R&B singer was joined by rap mogul Sean Combs, who led the assembled crowd in serenading her with "Happy Birthday". NPR's Mandalit del Barco was on the scene yesterday as she was honored on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.

Mary addressed the crowd giving her thanks for the recognition.

In addition to the long overdue ceremony the "Real Love" songstress was recently nominated for a Golden Globe Award for her work in the critically acclaimed Mudbound.
