No one will be able to relate to our players about dealing with success and facing diversity more than Marcus.

"There's no better Gamecock than Marcus Lattimore", Muschamp said in a release.

Way back in 2010, Lattimore burst onto the scene by rushing for 1,197 yards and 17 touchdowns as a freshman for SC. That's when his injury nightmares began-Lattimore tore the ACL in his right knee against Mississippi State, an injury that ended his sophomore campaign.

Former South Carolina star running back Marcus Lattimore, whose National Football League career was derailed by two devastating knee injuries in college, has returned to his alma mater to be a part of Will Muschamp's staff. "He will be a great addition to our program".

As a freshman in 2010, he rushed for 1,197 yards and led the Gamecocks to their first SEC Eastern Division title and was named SEC Freshman of the Year.

Lattimore, who coached the last two years at nearby Heathwood Hall, became a SC legend nearly immediately upon arrival in 2010. Surrounded by hype and expectations to eventually replace Frank Gore as the 49ers starting running back, Lattimore never played a down in the NFL, retiring from the league in 2014.

Afghanistan had also made an impression in the 2016 World Cup where they won the plate final . Apart from India , who won in 2000, 2008 and 2012, Australia have won the tournament thrice.

He is married to the former Miranda Bailey. However, Lattimore has been adamant about not wanting to transition into coaching college football because of the enormous time demands.

Krantz owns nine years of coaching experience, including seven seasons in the SEC as part of three different programs.

Krantz joined the Kentucky staff just prior to the start of the 2011 season, serving as a graduate assistant for the Wildcats.

Muschamp, the former Florida head coach and two-time former Auburn defensive coordinator, is 15-11 in two seasons with the Gamecocks.

Krantz is married to the former Brittany Hauck.
