Google is adding new capabilities To Google Duo

13 January 2018

We realize that making it easy to reach the right contact isn't just a challenge for our users - it's also a challenge for many messaging app developers. Google's added a lot of new features and improvements since its release in 2016, but like any other communications app, it's faced the same issue of forcing you to encourage your friends and family members to actually download it so you can talk to them. Google Duo usually displays two lists - one with the names of users who have installed the app and the other with names of people who haven't.

Once the call ends, the user will be offered the option of installing the app, as well as blocking that caller.

Do you use Allo or Duo?

And in case a user hits a button to navigate away while the Duo call is connected, similar to how a full-fledged app functionality would allow you, it will show you a persistent notification icon that can bring the call back into view, at any point.

At the end of the call, users are prompted to install Duo if they're interested in starting video calls of their own.

The post notes that it could be either Instant app or Play Services related.

Valero Energy Corp (NYSE:VLO) Institutional Investors 2017 Q3 Sentiment
Finally, ValuEngine upgraded Valero Energy from a "hold" rating to a "buy" rating in a research report on Sunday, December 31st. It is negative, as 46 investors sold VLO shares while 310 reduced holdings. 97 funds opened positions while 258 raised stakes.

The new addition works exactly like a usual Duo call which includes the Knock-Knock feature through which you can see the preview of the caller before you pick it up.

The change was spotted by Android Police.

Like Google Duo, but don't have many of your contacts using it?

This means, for users who do not even have the app installed on their phones, an incoming call can instantly fly over the screen with a view of the caller's camera.

Another comment on the thread noted that Google Duo compatibility is now part of the stock Android Dialer and allows calls to non-Duo users. " The feature appears to be limited to Android phones".
