It's been a hard week for Ellen DeGeneres.

The former talk show host and DeGeneres went on to thank the Montecito, Calif., firefighters who have been searching for victims.

She posted the segment to her Twitter page, alerting all of her followers of the sad news.

Ellen DeGeneres' father, Elliot DeGeneres, has sadly passed away at 92-years-old.

Winfrey, who shared a couple of videos on Instagram Wednesday from her Montecito property, said some of her neighbors' houses have been destroyed, and that she was ready to provide assistance.

"This room is always so full of positivity and love and today, I really need it", DeGeneres told the audience of her daytime talk show Thursday. "I lost my dad this week", Ellen told the audience.

"One of the things that I want to talk about is you know, we've had these bad fires all over California and one of the hardest hit areas is where I live in Montecito". The 59-year-old TV personality went on saying of her late father, "He was Christian science his entire life". I never had a vaccination. "We never had medicine growing up and he lived to be 92". Most deaths are feared to have occurred in Montecito, a wealthy area of Santa Barbara that is home to celebrities including Oprah, Rob Lowe and Ellen DeGeneres. I left the building and I looked back and there was a rainbow over the Warner Brothers studio.

The Golden Globes victor said she did not realise the scale of the devastation until she put on her boots and waded through the mud in her yard.

She even received the handsome gift of a rainbow before he died. "Pretty fantastic. ... I got a rainbow before he died".

'I believe, given that the rainbow was sighted by you, right over the place they named after you, after your dad had passed, was a sign to acknowledge the love you held for him and his pride and love for you, too, ' one sweetly commented.
