As scrutiny of the allegations increased, he parted ways with the network, NPR reported.

But on Wednesday, NPR's David Folkenflik reported Rosen had developed a pattern of "flirting aggressively with many peers" and allegedly made sexual advances toward two Fox News reporters and a producer. Gretchen Carlson, a former Fox anchor, sued Mr. Ailes in 2016, saying he had forced her out after she refused his sexual advances.

"James Rosen is exiting the company at the end of the year", a Fox News spokesperson confirms, without providing further detail. Fox News in particular has struggled to deal with the fallout from sexual misconduct scandals.

Last spring, according to NPR, Rosen tried to forcibly kiss a young reporter after the two had lunch together. Rosen also declined to comment to NPR.

Rosen is the latest in a string of high-profile men in the news media to be accused of "inappropriate behavior", including several at Fox.

She and multiple other women came forward with allegations against him. (It was later reported to be six settlements totaling $45 million.) Fox News had been aware of complaints against O'Reilly.

Former host Eric Bolling was suspended in August, and in September parted ways with Fox News amid allegations that he sent sexually explicit pictures to coworkers. But there have been questions on whether the network has done enough to address a culture that allowed for such predation.

Rosen, 49, has been with Fox News since 1999, 3 years after the channel launched.

"There was a problem with our chief executive sort of over the years, but isolated incidents", Murdoch said. "That was largely political because we're conservative". In exchange for her keeping the complaint private, NPR reported, Fox News and the producer, a foreign national, made a deal "that enabled her to extend her stay in the USA", in NPR's words.
