Former Dolphins RB Reggie Bush retires

17 December 2017

I've been saying it.

Selected second overall by the Saints in the 2006 NFL Draft, Bush quickly thrived in New Orleans' Drew Brees-led offense.

While it wasn't surprising news, former USC running back Reggie Bush has retired from the NFL.

"I'm done", Bush said on NFL Network. "Yeah, I'm done. I said it".

The last time the Detroit Lions bolstered a running back in their backfield to rush for 1,000 yards in a single season was 2013.

Bush has been a free agent all season, but was not signed by any team this year, and apparently seen that the writing is on the wall.

Agnew said they were seeking to have the animals euthanized. "I wasn't able to see the body, so I can't tell you what happened". According to Richmond, Va., CBS affiliate WTVR, Bethany Stephens' body was found by her father in a field in Goochland County.

"Listen, once you get to a certain age as a running back, they just start to slowly weed you out", Bush said.

After the Saints got their first win of the 2017 season, Kevin Foote chose to break down his five favorite Saints regular season wins ever in the latest Foote's Five.

As Bush said, the news isn't really news.

Bush will leave his playing days behind him with a Super Bowl ring though as he was in Super Bowl XLIV when the Saints whooped up on the Colts 31-17. He also recorded 43 receptions for 296 yards and a touchdown. During his time in the National Football League, he played with the Saints, Dolphins, Lion, 49ers and Bills. The former USC great hasn't been truly effective for a full season since 2013, the previous year he rushed for more than 1,000 yards (1,006 with the Detroit Lions).

"Listen, the Saints know I'm coming home at some point", Bush said. But yeah, man, I'm done.
