Despite no police permission, Hardik Patel holds roadshow in Ahmedabad

11 December 2017

"We will make sure that the BJP is punished", PAAS convenor Narendra Patel said to News 18.

The Patidar Anamat Andolan Samiti (PAAS) convener also called upon people from different communities to come together to defeat the "arrogant BJP".

So if one is following Hardik Patel's rallies, then Patel votes in Gujrat are not there for granted for BJP this time.

Dikshit Patel, a long time BJP worker, is anxious that the simmering anger of the Patidar community, upset over the violence in 2015 during the agitation for reservation, could brim over on election day, spelling trouble for the party.

"(Modi said) people came from Pakistan and discussed Gujarat elections.

Kinder Morgan Inc (NYSE:KMI) 2017 Q2 Institutional Investor Sentiment Steady
Barclays Capital maintained Kinder Morgan, Inc. (NYSE: KMI ) also leans strongly towards the neutral end of the spectrum. Markston Limited Liability Corporation invested 0.02% of its portfolio in Anheuser-Busch InBev SA/NV (NYSE:BUD).

Also, police did not allow the BJP to hold a roadshow tomorrow, the last day of campaigning for the second phase of Gujarat elections scheduled to be held on December 14.The first phase of polling was held on December 9.

The trouble started brewing between Bambhania and Hardik Patel soon after the announcement by Congress of its list of candidates for Patel-dominated constituencies of Surat and Saurashtra. Of the remaining 93 seats to go to polls on Dec 14, it got 52 - still a majority, but a narrower margin, with Congress winning in 39 constituencies to take its total to 61 seats. This is where they, especially Patels, have greatest presence. And when we raise voice for our basic rights i.e. anamat (reservation in education and jobs), they (the government) kill us. GST impact, if any, would be seen in Surat. It all began in Mehsana, the epicentre of the Patidar agitation led by Patidar Amanat Andolan Samiti (PAAS) chief Hardik Patel, two years ago, they recall. The area with dominant presence of diamond merchants had witnessed massive protests against the tax reform. And all these seats have Patidar votes in significant numbers. The very next day, Hardik Patel held a press meet to announce acceptance of formula offered by Congress. Considered as strong BJP supporters till recently, Patidars are an influential community in Gujarat.

Valsad, also with five seats, would also need watching - rallies of Modi and BJP president Amit Shah in this part were a dismal flop.

Somnath, too falls in the first phase.

"Despite anger and displeasure with the BJP, there are many like Parvej and Chirag who vow to vote for the saffron party to keep the Congress out of power, as they feel they would be insecure if the BJP loses". The Congress had won two of the three seats there.
