The current spokesperson of the PDP, Prince Dayo Adeyeye, while briefing newsmen about the convention, however revealed that the party had barred Atiku from casting a vote at Saturday's convention. But some overzealous elements in the administration are bent... It is very credible information. "He will even make a speech at the convention but he may not be voting at the convention".

Okowa said: "A lot has been put on the ground for a successful convention to be held".

"This is a credible information and that is why we are appealing to President Muhammadu Buhari to please rein in his aides".

A Senior Manager at Top Rank Hotel in Utako told The Guardian that the hotel was fully booked on Monday December 4, 2017 with most of the rooms occupied by politicians.

He also informed the PDP chieftain that he was aware of the allegations that some governors were trying to hijack the process, saying it was speculative and wrong. The elder statesman was speaking when he received members of the PDP Convention Planning Committee led by their Chairman and Delta State Governor, Ifeanyi Okowa, at his residence in Minna, the Niger State capital.

"I am glad they are working hard and I have seen that they want to make sure that the convention of the PDP is rancor-free, transparent and everybody will be given a level playing ground".

"He also appealed to PDP leaders in the South-South to see Nigeria as a country that must be united and not divided along ethnic line".
