Geoff Keighley Teases Major New Announcement at The Game Awards

08 December 2017

One of the big end-of-year events for video games is upon us, and it promises to be a good one.

In addition to teases surrounding PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds, Metro: Exodus and Crows Crows Crows, Keighley sent a tweet earlier tonight that included a link to this site, which points towards a new announcement coming from THQ Nordic at 6 PM PT, the same start time as The Game Awards. Geoff Keighley, awards' host and organizer, has stated that the award show will be making a number of reveals, but has now offered a few more details on what we can expect.

This year's Game Awards celebrates a landmark 2017, which saw Nintendo launch the Switch, its most successful console since the Wii in 2006, and a stellar lineup of games nominated across all platforms.

Kate Winslet Says Woody Allen Really Gets Women
She writes that "it breaks my heart" when men and women dodge or don't fully answer questions about working with the director. In the op-ed, Farrow draws parallels between Allen and Weinstein in how they reportedly responded to the allegations.

Of course, none of this is confirmation that Keighley has an ace up his sleeve for The Game Awards, and it could just be a case of him wanting to increase interest before Thursday. Prey, Destiny 2, Nioh, Cuphead and Wolfenstein 2: The New Colossus are vying for Best Action Game.

Presenters: The Walking Dead's Norman Reedus, famed video game auteur Hideo Kojima and filmmaker Guillermo Del Toro will be on hand to present awards, leading many to believe that the trio will be releasing a new trailer for their collaborative game Death Stranding.
