'Mario + Rabbids' gets a free versus battle mode tomorrow

Sharp enough to test against another human player?

The new mode is a welcome addition to a fantastic game, and once again shows Ubisoft delicately balancing the mix of paid and free add-on content for their games. It allows you to battle a friend on the same system (with two controllers or a pair of Joy-Cons), hand-pick three-hero squads and use every technique and trick from your sleeve to claim victory across special surprise-filled maps.

There's a catch, however. One big difference between Versus and the story mode is that each player will only have three actions per turn, making it a battle of strategy as you choose between using a turn to move all of your fighters, or putting all of your actions into one or two characters attacking. Will you move all your characters into strategic positions, or will you spend all your actions to, say, move Luigi into a sniping spot, activate his motion-attacking Steely Gaze, and then open fire on a juicy target?

St-Pierre said he has no regrets about his dietary approach to bulking up, because he did it "the natural way". The morning of his historic return, the 36-year-old vomited as he attempted to force-feed himself.

Additionally, playable characters in the mode will be "beefy, upgraded versions of all eight characters" (presumably to ensure character balance), while 16 different unlockable variants will be available on top of standard, "all-around starter loadouts" for each character. And yes, you can pick an all-Rabbid or all-Mushroom Kingdom team. Power ups that do things like let a character act a second time or deal more damage that turn can appear.

The mode will also feature adjustable options per match including timers, time or even removing all the items as you see fit.
