The House was expected to vote Wednesday on the concealed-carry measure, the first gun legislation in Congress since the Las Vegas shooting and another in Texas that killed more than two dozen people. Its fate remains uncertain in the Senate, the Washington Post reported.

The Concealed Carry Reciprocity Act would allow any individual with a concealed carry permit to carry their firearm in any other state that allows concealed carry. "This proposed bill creates a real risk to public safety".

He has voted to allow federal law enforcement officers to carry their firearms when on furlough, in case of a government shutdown, and endorsed other pro-Second Amendment solutions to self-defense. "Taking that authority away from those most qualified to make that determination is irresponsible and risky", he said.

State of Wisconsin Investment Board increased its position in shares of Marvell Technology Group by 233.1% in the third quarter. The semiconductor company reported $0.34 earnings per share for the quarter, topping the consensus estimate of $0.33 by $0.01.

"Congress continues to undermine effective and proven state gun laws that save lives, simply to placate their gun industry benefactors whose only concern is to increase gun violence, fear, gun sales and campaign contributions", he said.

Democrats also criticized Republicans for including a bill on background checks in the concealed-carry legislation.

The vote was largely along party lines with Democrats blasting and Republicans supporting the measure.

The bill is a top priority of the National Rifle Association, which calls it an important step to allow gun owners to travel freely between states without worrying about conflicting state laws or civil suits. He called the bill the "culmination of a 30-year movement recognizing the right of all law-abiding Americans to defend themselves, and their loved ones, including when they cross state lines". The legislation, Concealed Carry Reciprocity Act of 2017, makes the concealed carry permit of one state valid in the other 49. Two months after two of the deadliest shootings in USA history, Republicans were "brazenly moving to hand the NRA the biggest item on its Christmas wish list", she said.

"If more guns made people safer, we'd be the safest country on earth", said Rep. Carolyn Maloney, D-N.Y. Let's be clear: "These politicians are trading our safety for political contributions from the gun lobby". "I'm angry that when this country is begging for courage from our leaders, they are responding with cowardice".
