Candle vigil held in the memory of veteran actor Shashi Kapoor

Bollywood celebrities arrived to pay their last respects to acting legend Shashi Kapoor at his prayer meet in Mumbai on Thursday afternoon.

The entire nation lost a gem when legendary actor Shashi Kapoor passed away recently. Shashi's brother Raj Kapoor and Shammi Kapoor ruled the Hindi film industry for decades. Armaan and Adaar Jain - sons of Raj Kapoor's daughter Reema Jain - were also present. Lyricist Gulzar and actor Raza Murad were also spotted at the do.

Shashi Kapoor died after prolonged illness on Monday at Mumbai's Kokilaben Ambani Hospital.

But looks like fans from across the border are paying their tribute to Shashi Kapoor.

Several film personalities such as Amitabh Bachchan, Salim Khan, Shah Rukh Khan, Anil Kapoor, Rishi Kapoor, Randhir Kapoor, Sanjay Dutt, Ranbir Kapoor, Naseeruddin Shah, Nawazuddin Siddiqui, Supriya Pathak, Shakti Kapoor and Suresh Oberoi attended the star's cremation, held in Mumbai on Tuesday.

On Monday evening, Amitabh Bachchan was one of the first ones to drop by the Kapoor residence with son Abhishek and daughter-in-law Aishwarya.

Other guests included, Rani Mukerji, Rohan Sippy, Milan Luthria, Chunkey Pandey, Nandita Das, Ahana Kumra, Kunal Kemmu, Soha Ali Khan, Ashutosh Gowariker, Kiran Rao, Abbas Mastan, Suniel Shetty, Madhur Bhandarkar, Abhijat Joshi, Vidhu Vinod Chopra, Ronit Roy, Udit Narayan, Ramesh Taurani, Vipul Shah, Sonali Kulkarni, Hansal Mehta, Zoya Akhtar, Sudhir Mishra among others.

He was honoured with the Padma Bhushan in 2011 and received cinema's prestigious Dada Saheb Phalke award in 2015.
