Angelina Jolie Reveals What Really Ruined Her Marriage

07 December 2017

Now, looking in hindsight a year after announcing their divorce, Jolie notes a certain "heaviness" was present while filming By the Sea.

The actress and humanitarian wrote and made the drama - which tells the story of a couple whose 14-year relationship frays after they suffer multiple miscarriages - during the most painful years of her life.

Speaking to The Hollywood Reporter podcast, the mother-of-six reflected on the movie and her relationship with Brad, 53. "I'm not sure", she added. Jolie appeared on the podcast, Awards Chatter, to discuss her film First They Killed My Father, although ended up discussing much more than just that. "I wanted us to do some serious work together", she said. I thought it would be a great way for us to communicate.

'In some ways it was, and in some ways we learned some things.

The two met while filming "Mr. & Mrs. Smith".

She fell in love with her third husband Brad Pitt on the set of Mr and Mrs Smith in 2005, and Angelina Jolie believed that working on another film together, By the Sea, would help salvage their marriage in 2015. "It was something that we were dealing [with]... things happen for different reasons", she said. Why did we feel that way when we made it?

Like Pitt in real life apparently, Roland drinks to much and tries to write, while Jolie stares out at the sea, smokes a lot of cigarettes and looks lovely but sad over infertility issues.

Auckland City were typically tidy in possession, and looked more and more threatening as the match went on. It's hard to take for Auckland City, who have usually found a way to prevail in such contests in the past.

Following some dramas, including a spat with the couple in the room next door after Jolie's character Vanessa attempts a liason with the younger man, the couple leave reconciled.

As she recalled, her family was going through a particularly tough time, even outside the demands of work.

"A piece of art can be something that can be healing or it can be hard", she added.

She concluded the interview saying that she is still glad that they did the movie together because it was something that they were able to explore together at the same time.

"By the Sea obviously didn't save the marriage, but she thinks it still allowed them to communicate something that needed to be communicated to each other".

'I don't enjoy being single. "There's nothing nice about it".
