Trump meets Australian, Japanese leaders to talk about China, North Korea

15 November 2017

President Donald Trump's lengthy Asia trip is winding down as it began, with a visit meant to be centered on trade and North Korea shadowed by questions about Russian Federation.

"The key for us is to ensure very close trilateral cooperation so as to bring peace and stability on the ground", said the Japanese leader, who has been displaying a united front against North Korea with Trump.

A massive naval drill involving three USA aircraft carrier strike groups is underway in western Pacific waters as a show of force.

U.S. President Donald Trump raised North Korea's missile tests during talks on Monday with the prime ministers of Japan and Australia, and said "a lot" of progress had been made in negotiations on trade.

Trump's first official visit to the region was billed as a push to step up global pressure on North Korea over its nuclear weapons program and reduce U.S. trade deficits with South Korea, Japan and China. However, he offered no details on the coming announcement.

President Donald Trump is again thanking the president of the Philippines, Rodrigo Duterte (doo-TEHR'-tay), for hosting world leaders at the annual ASEAN summit. "We better pray", he said, describing the situation in the Korean Peninsula as a "crisis looming ahead". "This has been very successful".

Trump's attitude is right.

He tried to have it both ways on the issue of Russian interference in last year's presidential race, saying he believes both the USA intelligence agencies when they say Russia meddled and Putin's sincerity in claiming that his country did not. This not a press statement.

Cards Against Humanity Takes Aim At Trump With New Promotion
The land purchase and the new website are actually part of the kickoff to the company's annual holiday season marketing stunt. And this isn't the first time that Cards Against Humanity has turned to real estate for the sake of its holiday jokes.

The White House had added the East Asia Summit, an annual meeting of more than a dozen countries, to the president's schedule after concerns were raised that missing it might signify a lack of USA interest in Asia. "Human rights briefly came up in the context of the Philippines' fight against illegal drugs".

"I apologize for setting the tone of my statement in such a manner", Duterte said.

"I remain concerned about China's efforts to build and militarise outposts in the South China Sea".

Trump will also be having an informal dinner later Monday with Turnbull. Some protesters pushed the police, organizer Renato Reyes told VOA News, who said "scores" of protestors had been injured and some had to be treated at an on-site clinic.

Trump told reporters on the plane he had already delivered his "final remarks" during a lunch with other leaders and would send the secretary of state, Rex Tillerson, in his place.

He provided a copy of his prepared remarks to the White Hose reporters travelling with him aboard Air Force One on his way back home from Manila at the conclusion of his almost two-week trip to Asia, with stops in Japan, South Korea, China, Vietnam and the Philippines.

"It was red carpet like nobody, I think, has probably ever received", Trump said.
