Race to Dubai victor Henrik Stenson out of 2017 European Tour finale

15 November 2017

At the start of the year Fleetwood collected more than £300,000 by taking a European Tour title at the Abu Dhabi HSBC Championship.

Sergio Garcia insists he has no regrets at leaving himself just a two per cent chance of winning the Race to Dubai for the first time as he gets to grips with a surprising change of equipment.

The par 5, 18th hole on the Earth Course at Jumeirah Golf Estates. He won the French Open as well. "It's been a wonderful year".

Defending champion Matt Fitzpatrick is in the field this week after he won this tournament previous year with a birdie at the 72nd hole.

The only way the Spaniard will lift the Race to Dubai trophy if he wins the DP World Tour Championship, and Tommy Fleetwood finishes outside of the top-20 and Rose finishes worse than solo fourth. "Not at all, not at all", he shot back when asked if he regretted not winning the Race to Dubai crown.

"I'm not going to change the way I go out there", Garcia told a pre-tournament press conference. "I had some important things that I needed to take care of".

Senate committee questions Trump's nuclear authority
Trump has countered by calling Corker a "lightweight" who couldn't get re-elected if he ran again in 2018. The measures, though, have not advanced in the Republican-controlled Congress.

It's all lush green rolling fairways, white sand bunkers (99 in total) and crystal-clear lakes (which patrol the last four holes in particular). I think they have narrowed a lot of the fairways from past year. So you have to be careful with that because it's easy to forget. It was designed by Greg Norman, who has identified European parkland courses as his inspiration, which is perhaps why the elite-level players have taken to the layout very nicely.

On the three-way race for the Race to Dubai title, Garcia pleaded ignorance about the possibilities.

"I don't know how I'll feel this week. What I'm going to do, I'm not going to change the way I go out there".

"I can't control what
other people do. Obviously, both Tommy (Fleetwood) and Justin (Rose) are playing really well", he pointed out.

"To be totally honest, I see a two percent chance of me winning The Race to Dubai, but I'm fine with it". It's going to be a new experience, it's going to be a great experience.

Garcia would require Fleetwood to finish outside the top 12 and finish Justin Rose to finish fourth of worse, even with a win, although the Masters champion won't be focusing on those around him in the final event of the season.
