The shooting of a man who allegedly stabbed two security guards in the Bronx appears to be justified in footage captured by police body cameras, but ultimately the NYPD's Force Investigation Division will review the incident and decide, sources said Tuesday.

Lockhart was asked to drop the knife at least 20 times, according to police.

He was pronounced dead at St. Barnabas Hospital. Both women were hospitalized in serious condition.

A NYPD spokesman, who declined to provide more details, citing the preliminary stages of an investigation, said two women had sustained non-lifethreatening injuries.

Police have released the identity of a man shot and killed by police in the Bronx Monday night. The armed man did not comply, and instead stepped toward the officers with the knife displayed in his right hand. The suspect was transported to St. Barnabas Hospital, where he expired. Police say he approached still holding the knife, a four-inch steak knife, and that's when both officers opened fire, shooting the suspect several times.

One guard was stabbed in arm; the other was stabbed in chest.
