Rochester singer Teddy Geiger says he is transitioning

28 October 2017

The singer posted a screenshot of a conversation on Instagram on Friday to share the news with fans, after a commenter asked: "Tell us, why do you look so different lately?"

"I am transitioning", Geiger wrote, "I started talking about it with a couple of my close friends about a month ago and it's given me the courage to start the process".

Geiger, 29, rose to fame with his 2006 single "For You I Will", which starred Kristin Cavallari as the leading lady in the music video.

"Love it or hate it, this is who I've been for a long time", Geiger wrote in a heartfelt response, which was then shared as a separate Instagram post. "Talk soooon byeeee", Geiger concluded.

Jordan Spieth admits former President Barack Obama recently beat him at golf
And the president had a 10-foot double-breaking putt - this is my home course and I've never seen anybody make the putt. And then 44 hit a insane putt to beat Spieth on the 18th hole with a crowd watching.

Washington D.C.: Singer-songwriter Teddy Geiger has announced he has begun the process of transitioning to a woman.

People reported that in recent years, Geiger has had success as a songwriter, notably penning One Direction's "Where Do Broken Hearts Go" and "Shawn Mendes' hits, "Stitches", "There's Nothing Holdin' Me Back" and "Treat You Better".

Recently, the hitmaker and sometime actor (Teddy has had roles on The Royal Pains and 2008 Rainn Wilson vehicle The Rocker) appeared at the Grammy Museum where they performed the song "Mercy" solo on piano and participated in a panel about songwriting. You have to love it, otherwise you're just going to go nuts performing it on TV and over and over again, you know, promoting it.

We wish the musician well on the next phase of their journey.
